The Mo of Meth

With the up coming return of world famous TV show Breaking Bad we thought it might be time to write up about the man behind the blue. Walter White better known as Heisenberg sure knows how to cook some good blue, but he's even better at cooking up a great mo, his partner only wishes he could grow one as good as the master himself. With all the excitement towards the last few episodes of breaking bad all the focus will be on Mr. White and his iconic moustache.

We give him a 3.5/5 for that solid 'stache.

Kill Them With Colour - Tropic Thunder LP

Smooth and calm LP that i've just stumbled across. Only 12 days old so make sure you jump on this one before it becomes overplayed, mainstream and your really annoying friend who thinks his taste in music is similar to yours shows it to you in 3 months.

The tune true love on the LP gets a 4/5 for its 80's sampling 

Ron Burgundy

Ron Burgundy... Newsreader, lover and connoisseur of a sweet sweet stache. Although Ron is fictional, that beefy mo is most definitely not. Quite frankly if Will Ferrell's beefy lip rug doesn't win an Oscar for the upcoming Anchorman film I'll eat my stache.

4/5 Staches for that warm smoky face beaver.

The Future... Casper Zazz

Casper Zazz, cool name, I know.
This trio who reign from the heart of Melbourne are gradually climbing up the hierarchy of well known producers in Australia. They have been heavily likened to Flume and really their personal history resonates very well. These three sixteen year olds have already launched their first EP Moons and with their hit single Make Believe are already getting strong publicity from the likes of Triple J, respected musicians and well known bloggers.

Getting to our point, their new remix of Safia's- Stretched and Faded has quite clearly shown the public, how serious this trio is going to be. The song has layers of pure and eccentric harmonies, whilst incorporating the slow and soothing vocal's from the lead singer of safia. This song is getting quick and vast attention from bloggers all around Australia, and trust us it wont stop there.

We also rarely harp on the age of producers and artist's in the industry, however, for the trio of Casper Zazz to be only at the age of 16, it is scary to see how industrious these boys will become through the gaining of experience and maturity.

IAMNOBODI - BUBBLEBATHDREAM$

Loving the bass-line and the sweet melody on this one. It possesses style along with grace and with the strangle and tasteful name of IAMNOBODI, he has really pulled it off big time. 3/5 for capital letters without spaces

Touch Sensitive - Pizza Guy

Future classic have always been an inspiring label realising smooth and futuristic tunes and thats no exception with Pizza Guy.
Brilliant work 4/5 for this beauty

Mayer Hawthorne - Her Favorite Song (Oliver Remix)

I would usually give a lovely write up but i honestly believe that this one doesn't need it...i'll let the music do the talking this time. 5/5 - stunned

Kan Sano - Uptight (Stevie Wonder)

Up until now I'd never heard of Kan Sano, evidently a major loss for me. I don't know what genre to pigeonhole this into besides straight good music.

Music's Best Moustaches #1

People are probably thinking moustaches and music, whats the connection? First of all they are both up there as the most exciting two things on the planet and because of our weekly segment of "Music's Best Moustaches." Once a week, on a Sunday we will be filling you in on some great acts with some of the best mo's and music out.

This weeks edition is focusing on one of the loves of our lives, TA-KU. Hailing from Perth Ta-ku's blend of hip-hop and soul creates magical sounds that suck you in and make you never want to leave. He is responsible for the great releases of LATENYC and SCARLETTE.

In 2008 Ta-ku released the funky track 'Higher'. Bringing together an awesome beat with some nicely cut up samples that went on to being remixed by Flume who drops the track at his shows all around the world. He recently mopped up an energetic remix to one of Cosmo Midnight's tunes that we are digging as well.


Ta-ku has a light, perfect and small yet prominent mo that he takes great pride in. He regularly attends some of the best barber shops in Perth and the rest of the world have to offer.

Here at My Moustache Music we give Ta-ku a 3.5/5 for his mo and a 3/5 for his tracks

Beatiful new track by Ellie Goulding. Melodic pop that makes you want to break out and stroke your stache, Tiesto and Maths Time Joy on remix duty.

Stwo yes we are in love

The producer from France named stwo is doing fabulous things in the chillwave genre. His two recent EP's are both quite majestical and beautiful in the production. He chops up vocals from tunes and twists them around to create soothing sounds on top of his melodic riffs and downbeat drum tracks. Lovin u, Work and Try to resist are our favourites by him but honestly all of his stuff is just pure brilliance.

AlunaGeorge - Attracting Flies

AlunaGeorge is a name that’s been coming up on a lot of people radars lately. The duo are one of the most blogged artists of 2012, and it’s no surprise why. The eclectic beats of George and the melodic vocal charm of Aluna compliment each other perfectly. Amalgamating in a tapestry of future dance beats permeating with the motifs and effervescence of high quality pop. There is no better example of this than their track “attracting flies”. A single off their new album Body Music, it catches the ear from the moment it begins and keeps its iron grip for the duration of the song.

Snakehip's- Swimming In Warm Water

With Snakehip's new remix Warm Water out on the streets and in peoples ears it seems that everyones giving positive feedback. Its a more subtle song compared to their other thumping tunes but it's still definitely up there with the best of them. The soothing lyrics and funky guitar riffs give the track an upper edge. Snakehips don't tend to disappoint and they've kept their reputation with this remix. the recent head support act to one of Flumes major shows in Europe has given Snakehips Exposure to all of Flumes Australian followers. I'lls Plans Only Drawn

I'lls is a band taking the Australian music industry by storm. Their first ep Thread was explicit yet inconsistent in the approach they were taking to their genre of music. However, with their new album A Warm Reception they have started being categorised as the "up and coming band in Australia" and have been linked as the new Radiohead. Plans Only Drawn, transmutes throughout and tranquillises the listener with the pure and eccentric vocals of Simon Lam.With these new tracks I'lls is paving the way for Australian electronica, and we are loving it.

Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt (Moustache Review)

Twenty-sixth president of the United States, his moustache had more power in the White House than he and many others had. Few American politicians at his level of power have been able match or even come close to the power that this legend’s moustache had and its influence around the world. Roosevelt may have been able to achieve many accomplishments in his work and he may have been able to solve many problems around the world but one thing that he was never able to do was control the sheer awesomeness of that moustache.

So from the boys at My Moustache Music we give Teddy a 3.75/5 for his charming facial hair.

Ron Barassi's Thickness

Not only is Ron Barassi a legend on the football field and instrumental towards shaping how AFL is played today, he is also an enthusiastic moustache grower. He demonstrates great compassion with his mow, always looking for bright ways to show it off. His deep and compelling smile really brings out the manly hairs. The grey, slick and elegant mow is one of the things Mr. Barassi is commonly known for. At age 77 we hope that Barassi's beautiful facial hair stays with us for many years to come.


We give Ron Barassi a solid 3/5 for his relentlessness to never tweak his outgoing moustache.

Kaytranada's Funky ways

KAYTRANADA should be on all itunes Libraries especially if you're a funk and dance lover. his indivdual ways of production and groovy drum tracks are something to look out for. The deep and progressive synths create tingles down all of our spines, not to mention his old fashion bass riffs. The Canadians smooth and slick ways of going about things make us all envious of him. Old style acapellas are starting to be commonly used in todays electronic dance genre but no one does it better then KAYTRANADA.

Wave Racer Earning Instant Fame

Waver Racer has only released three songs to this date and you would think it would take a little more then that to get instant exposure. But for this Producer thats all it takes. His quick and energetic electronic style has been compared to the likes of Cashmere Cat, Trippy Turtle and Flume. His already landed a release date on Australia's famous Future Classic label for his remix to a song by P a n a m a. His debute track Stoopid climbed in at #15 on the Hype Machine overall chart. His bouncing, quick and melodic ways brought his remix of Ghost Town Dj's - My Boo to feature on the popular youtube channel Majestic casual giving the star worldwide publicity. Massive things are ahead for Waver Racer so make sure you're following him on all his social networking streams to get the first glimpse of his new works.

Albert Einstein (Moustache Review)

This great man, Albert Einstein, is the proud owner of a moustache that requires a mathematical equation to keep sturdy. While this man might know what mc squared might equal, he might have to start focusing some of his time on berating that beefy mo scaling down his upper lip.
In retrospect, however, this moustache is telling us that he's always up for a good night, and loves to party.

Safia At It Again

Canberra 3 Piece SAFIA are currently dominating the Australian music scene. Their individual and expressive sound creates an energetic environment which gives you an out of body experience. Their funky guitar riffs and clever drum fills make their remix to Bongo - Ocean a memorable one. Keep an eye on these guys, they are in it for the long run.

We've luckily grown up in a world filled with admirable and creative musicians who are now paving a loveable path of futuristic tunes. But not only does our love for music bring us together, we also share a deep affection towards raw, masculine, cute, stubby, and out of the ordinary moustaches. We truly understand the creativeness one can possess in the way they shape and curve their facial hair.
